*NYC Premiere, One Week Only!*

Written and directed by Frank V. Ross (PRESENT COMPANY, HOHOKAM), the SXSW 2010 fave AUDREY THE TRAINWRECK is a slyly comic drama about attempting to keep one's existence simple, and the innate beauty of such absurd pursuits.

For Chicago office drone Ron Hogan (Anthony Baker), life is fine... not great, not good, just... fine. Ron is almost 30, and on the verge of retiring any sort of dream he's harbored of a life less ordinary. At the story's outset, Ron is hanging out with coworkers at a bar when he's accidentally struck in the back by a dart. He visits the emergency room and experiences no permanent damage, yet the accident leaves him out of sync in both his personal and professional life. Ron's growing irritation leads to tension with friends and coworkers, especially with his overprotective roommate Scott (Danny Rhodes, STRANGER THAN FICTION).

Suddenly Ron's love life, up to now a staid routine of internet dating, takes a positive turn when he meets Stacy (Alexi Wasser, TV's "Dirt" and ART SCHOOL CONFIDENTIAL), an unlikely delivery woman who echoes his anxiety over whether the time has passed for their lives to be more than just "fine." In Ron, Stacy thinks she's found someone in whom she can confide her most personal thoughts and quiet observations, but both of them proceed with caution. Still, not even the prospect of new romance can lead Ron out of his funk, and only Scott challenges Ron to confront the sources of his unhappiness and make a radical change.

Featuring an original score by acclaimed jazz composer John Medeski (of Medeski Martin & Wood) and supporting performances by Jess Weixler (TEETH), Nick Offerman (TV's "Parks and Recreation") and filmmaker Joe Swanberg (ALEXANDER THE LAST), the film was produced by Adam Donaghey (LOVERS OF HATE) and Mike S. Ryan (PALINDROMES, OLD JOY).

85 minutes. In English. Presented in Blu-ray. Unrated.

*** FILMMAKER IN PERSON at all Fri, July 23 screenings ***

"How do you make a movie about dullness without making a dull movie? ... By getting as deep inside those moods as it can, talking about them honestly and in unsparing detail, and punctuating the tedium with a dry sense of humor and occasional outbursts of surprising violence."
- Matt Singer, IFC NEWS

"Unjustly underbuzzed... Ordinary life's manic seesaw between misery and levity is Ross's recurring subject... [An] incisive portrait of the suburban working-class."
- Karina Longworth, THE VILLAGE VOICE

"[A] scruffy, tender but very funny romance... Ross is something of an indie Robert Altman, with his huge cast of characters and plaited strands of dialogue, and he has a sharp and comic eye for intimacy, domesticity, and practicality."
- Richard Brody, THE NEW YORKER
